THE 66TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION IN EJISU MUNICIPALITY

The 66th independence anniversary celebration in Ejisu Municipality was held at the Ejisu Senior High Technical School, and it was a well-attended event with various dignitaries in attendance. The event was graced by the Queen Mother of Ejisu, Nana Yaa Asantewaa II, the municipal chief executive, Hon Samuel Oduro Frimpong, the member of parliament for Ejisu Constituency, Hon Dr John Ampotuah Kumah, the municipal education director, nananom, security personnel, religious leaders, assembly members, political parties, teachers, students, and other stakeholders.

The program kicked off with the inspection of the parade of students, security personnel, etc by the dignitaries on the platform. After the inspection, a speech from the member of parliament of Ejisu, Hon Dr John Ampotua Kumah briefly talked about Ghana’s independence and its significance. He also urged the people gathered to unite among themselves and to also unite with the rest of Ghana to build a better nation.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu, Hon Samuel Oduro Frimpong, also delivered a speech, where he highlighted the struggles and sacrifices made by Ghana’s forefathers to attain independence. He urged the people of Ejisu to continue to strive for unity and togetherness to ensure that the country develops to its full potential. He also enumerated some of the achievements of the assembly and the plans to do more for the people of Ejisu.

The students, security personnel, and political party members marched and saluted the dignitaries on the platform, adding a sense of patriotism to the occasion.

Towards the end of the program, awards were presented to the best two students at the Junior High School level and the Senior High School level. The MP, Hon Dr John Ampotua Kumah, who doubles as the deputy finance minister, awarded a full scholarship to the two students who have qualified to have a university education. Additionally, he gave two laptops to the Junior High students who have also qualified to attend Senior High School education, in recognition of their hard work and academic excellence.

The 66th independence anniversary celebration in Ejisu Municipality was a remarkable event, showcasing the spirit of unity and patriotism among the people. The various dignitaries who attended the event delivered speeches that emphasized the importance of unity, togetherness, and hard work to achieve national development. The award presentation was also a motivating factor for the students, encouraging them to work hard and aim high in their academic pursuits.
