The spokesperson for the people and Nananom listed some projects they would like the assembly to do for them. The key requests among all the communities we visited were rubbish containers, boreholes, construction of the school blocks, institutional toilet facilities etc.
At Boankra, the Nananom asked for a proper agreement between the town and the government. They said there has not been any proper agreement between the town and the government, in terms of the benefits they would derive from the Port.
Hon. MCE assured them that Hwereso and Boankra people would get the major part of the employment in the port.
At Akyawkrom, the people appealed to the assembly to fence their school compound to prevent the habit of smoking Indian hemp (wee) and other social vices at the school compound.
Throughout the engagement, the Hon. MCE appealed to the people to pay their taxes, especially the property tax so that the assembly can help them to develop their communities, to stop filling of red sand at waterlogged areas, etc.
The Fire Commander and the Hon. MCE educated the people on terrorism, the types, the targeted people and the things they use to lure the youth to support their activities. Hon. MCE appealed to all churches in the municipality to get search scanners and CCTV in and around their churches to scare terrorist attacks.
