REPORT ON A TWO DAY TRAINING ON CITIZENS GENERATED DATA HELD ON 4TH AND 5TH MAY 2023 AT THE MUNICIPAL HEALTH DIRECTORATE CONFERENCE HALL

The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Children and
Social Protection (MGCSP) and Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources (MSWR) are scaling
up the Citizens Generated Data pilot project in two thematic areas of the Gender-Based Violence
and Solid Waste Management. The members of the training were the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. S.O. Frimpong, Municipal
Coordinating Director Joseph T. Ababio, , Dr. Abeka Ansah(Ashanti Regional Statistician), Micheal Sampah Boateng, Basil Tungbani, Mavis Kemeh from GIZ and a
media person and staff of Ejisu Municipal Assembly.
Municipal Chief Executive stressed on the need of the Citizens Generated Data to drive change on issues of Gender-Based Violence and Solid Waste
Management in our communities and urge all the District Technical Team Members (DTT) to put in their maximum effort to make this data generation a successful one.
Dr. Abeka Ansah, from Ghana Statistical Service Ashanti Regional Statistician, welcomed participants and emphasized on the relevance of the Citizens Generated Data
helps providing prompt and more disaggregated data to monitor the sustainable development goals (SDGs) 5, 11 and 16 and also helps in providing disaggregated data
at the municipal and District level to support implementation of the district or municipal medium term development plans.
Basil Tungbani from GSS led the district technical team through the introduction to the Citizens
Generated Data the two main thematic area, Gender Based Violence and Solid Waste
Management and its potentials to address data gaps at the District level
Micheal Sampah Boateng from GSS led us with the presentation of the multidimensional poverty
index (MPI) in Ghana and the way forward.

Day Two
The 2nd day of the training with a reflection of what we learned the first day and it was led by Basil Tungbani.
There was a link for the training to helped evaluate how benefited the 2-day training had been
to the participants. The coordinating Director thanked the GSS team for their cooperation and ability to organized and making such training a success for the MMDAs.
