On June 21, 2024, the Ejisu Municipal Director of NADMO, Mrs. Linda Anima, informed the operations team about the visit of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, and the Regional Director of NADMO, Mr. Frank Duodu. They were to inspect a story building constructed on a street in Akyawkrom.
The operations team, led by the Deputy Municipal Director of NADMO, Mr. Benard Nkrabea, arrived at the scene ahead of the regional minister and his entourage.
Following the inspection, the Regional Minister announced that his office would issue a directive to the developer to remove the portion of the building encroaching on the street, setting a deadline for compliance. The NADMO regional office would be copied on this directive. Failure to comply within the specified time would result in the Regional Security Council demolishing the building.
