There are two residential houses that is Kinder Haus Kumasi and step-by-step homes for children with special needs in the Muicipality. Institutions present were SWCD Office, Health Directorate, Government Hospital, Environmental, Education and Planning, Assembly members for Ekyem and Kwaso, Chairman for social welfare committee Hon. Kuntu Blankson. The essence was to look at challenges, activities, and the way forward.
The challenges for Kinder Haus and step-by-step included poor road network to the facility, In need for a bus to convey children to school, reptiles invading their homes, street lights leading to their environment very bad, children of all stages are need of financial assistance, expenses are high.
The way forward is for the Health Directorate is to request a registry of children through the Assembly to cater for their medical bills ad the support them with sanitary items to keep their environment clean.
